Hi Friends,
As Beît Ballout grows - we wanted to take you on the journey with us, and update you on things that are happening in real time. As some of you might know, we come from humble beginnings!
Alia, our founder, started this brand from her bedroom, a big dream packaged into a small bottle. The want to create a legacy brand that people could trust one day. So, we thank you for being apart of our journey; especially if you’ve been here from the very beginning - it truly means a lot. And if you’re new here, welcome!
Here are some updates on our new office, our new members, new product launches, new collaborations, and what’s been happening with our home in the South of Lebanon with the on going Israeli bombardment of land.
We built Singapore’s first olive oil warehouse, studio, packing facility, and office!
The first of it’s kind, this is a space where we pack your orders, come up with new creative events, products, and even get to meet you when you come to do your re-fils!
We had two new members join us: Isabel Kuffel & Alawi Ballout
Isabel - Head of Operations
Isabel Kuffel is half American and half Cantonese, born and raised on the east coast of Singapore. She speaks English, Chinese, and Cantonese, and is Head of Operations at Beît Ballout.
Outside of work, she enjoys coding, reading, listening to music, and learning about history. She’s naturally curious and tends to pick up new interests and hobbies along the way.
Alawi Ballout - Finance & Accounts Lead / Business Operations
Beît Ballout runs in Alawi’s blood. As a Ballout, he takes this personal. From picking olives with the family in October to making sure every number adds up, the man can do it all. He came back to Singapore with one thing in mind, to help build something the family could be truly proud of.
Alawi is the mastermind behind Beît Ballout’s finances and systems. Often quiet, he makes sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes.
Outside of work, Alawi enjoys basketball, going to the gym, and helping the team figure out how Beît Ballout can one day become the trusted specialty house it is meant to be.
We got stocked at our favourite grocer - Little Farms & held our largest olive oil tasting yet!
“Hello, Little Farms, it’s us…‘Beît Ballout’, and we’re super happy to be here”!
We stocked new products
Our Zaat’ar spice blend sources from the West Bank in Palestine. We feel honoured we could give you a small taste of the Levante. What a beautiful thing food can do - bridge culture gaps so seamlessly!
Our collaboration with Issho Labo. We worked together to bring you these olive oil dishes. Now, you won’t need to find a specific dish to pour your high-quality EVOO - you just need this one!
Our pure sumac! Another Levantine staple that is often used as a substitute for citrus. Great on meats, salads, breads, and yes, even vanilla ice-ream with some sea salt - yummy!
Our collaboration EVOO with our friends in Spain! We bring you a high-quality EVOO with a higher polyphenol count - sharper, more intense, and from the cousin of our ancient olive trees - here is a Picual olive oil from one of the top producers in Malaga!
Our handmade soaps! Made by hand, by Mae, all with our olive oil and herbs, each one carrying a story, and each one with a unique scent!
We saw you at Boutique Fairs!
Our home in the South of Lebanon
While our farm is generally okay; the house is intact, our sheep are grazing, our chickens are roaming, and our olive trees are safe - we’re very uncertain of the on-going situation.
This is a bomb that landed just outside of our home. Unfortunately, this is a reality of the South of Lebanon due to Israeli aggression in the area. However, like our olives that are thousands of years old, we remain resilient.
We hope to return this October for a harvest; to bring you our family olive oil. We love doing this together as a family, and we love letting you try it here in Singapore.
That’s it from us for this month!
We’ve been busy, but we’re so glad we’re closer to you and that we can have you be apart of our journey,
Till the next one, we’ll be sharing more education, more events, and more items!
With love,
Beît Ballout
